Kobold Watches Supports Disaster Relief Efforts in Nepal

Michael Kobold, founder of Kobold Watches in Pittsburgh, was in the process of setting up the Soarway Foundation, a nonprofit to raise money for earthquake preparedness in Nepal, when the 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit on April 25. Now he is working to raise funds for disaster relief.

TAG Heuer Smartwatch Will Sell for Around $1,300

TAG Heuer’s much-heralded smartwatch, produced in association with Google and Intel, will retail for about $ 1,300, a spokesperson said.

The new device will have about 35 hours of battery life, added international PR director Marine Lemonnier-Brennan.

J.C. Penney Hires Chief Customer and Marketing Officer

Mary Beth West, a longtime board member at J.C. Penney and former head of marketing for Kraft Foods, has joined the retailer as executive vice president and chief customer and marketing officer. 

West will step down from the board as part of her new role.

West has been a member of the J.C. Penney board since 2005. She previously worked as executive vice president and chief category and marketing officer for Kraft Foods.

Baltimore Businesses Look Forward After Unrest

Peaceful protests in Baltimore following the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody turned violent over the weekend, with images of smashed police cars, shattered storefront windows, and a looted and burning CVS being broadcast live on national TV. Schools were shut down on Tuesday, and a 10 p.m. curfew is in effect all week.
